Emergency Shelter & Safe House

The Cherokee Family Violence Center’s Emergency Shelter is a 12 bed facility designed to assist families who are or have been victims of Domestic Violence. We strive to provide a home like atmosphere where you and your children can find safety, support and the resources you need as you work towards your goal of living a violence free life.  We center our work around being client focused and supportive of client needs. These values are what drive our staff to assist families and help them achieve goals that can seem distant during trying times. We welcome you and your family with open arms and want to help you through your circumstances one day at a time.

Food, shelter, transportation and unwavering support all come at no financial cost to you, we simply want to help. Our staff and volunteers are well trained in the Dynamics of Domestic Violence and are considered experts in the field. We can assist with protection orders, child care, referrals to community resources, medical/mental health referrals and employment assistance. We are a warm, caring supportive organization with your best interests at heart. We welcome you and hope that you find the services and experience helpful, hopeful and healing.
