2013 Candlelight Vigil

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.  Please join us in remembering those who have lost their lives to Domestic Violence this past year, and honoring survivors of abuse, at our annual Candlelight Vigil.  This moving, community event will take place on Tuesday, October 8th at 6:30PM at the gazebo in Cannon Park, in downtown Canton.

Black Roses Raise Money and Donate Food for CFVC

Last week we were visited by Iceman, Fabio, and Squats of the Black Roses Riding Club.  The Black Roses recently held a food drive and poker tournament, both to benefit CFVC.  Club members delivered bags of groceries for use in our emergency shelter and $450 in proceeds from the poker tournament.  They are pictured here…

Saudi Arabia Passes Domestic Abuse Ban For First Time

  In a historic move, Saudi Arabia banned domestic abuse last month, outlawing any form of abuse at home or in the workplace.  The Islamic country’s first anti-abuse campaign was integral in building momentum for the change. More info and story available at Huffington Post World.
