It’s things like this that keep us focused on the work we are doing — and know we are making a difference in the lives of the families we are lucky enough to work with every day.
It is Thank You Thursday and we want to highlight our friends from the One Eyed Jacks Riding Club who brought us a donation of food items they collected for us during a recent ride. Yard Bird (aka Matt Owens) and KC of the One Eyed Jacks are pictured here with Cherokee Family Violence Center Executive Director, Meg Rogers along with the club’s donation. Their motorcycle club is also planning to participate in our Poker Run on April 30th. Thank you OEJMC for supporting out programs!
It is Thank You Thursday and we want to highlight our friends from New Light Baptist Church who brought 26 care packages to our office this week. The care packages, delivered on December 1st, contained personal hygiene items for clients entering our emergency shelter. Many were wrapped and ready for Christmas but we know they will go to great use by our residents before then. Thank you for this useful and generous contribution, New Light Baptist Church!
It is Thank You Thursday and we want to highlight our friends from the Laurel Garden Club who recently donated socks, underwear and other goodies for victims living in our emergency shelter. They collected the donation through their “Fig Leaf Project.” Janet Sonner Aden, the Garden Club President is pictured here with our executive Director, Meg Rogers along with some of the group’s donation. Our friends in the Garden Club are experts on making things grow – we know that because our appreciation for them has really flourished. Thank you so much for supporting our programs!
It is Thank You Thursday and we want to highlight the volunteers of Liberty Hill UMC who participated in Trunk or Treat 2015! Our friends at Liberty Hill often show up to help the families we work with, but sometimes things are a little more sweet (this time, they brought candy!). Trunk or Treat was a huge success and the children of Hearthstone Landing, our Transitional Housing development, and everyone enjoyed looking at the wacky and creative cars in our parking lot. Thank you so much for making life a little more spirited around here during Halloween week and for all you do throughout the year!
