Teen volunteer Leia Amos of Ball Ground, along with her friends and family, recently completed a garden upgrade at our shelter. The group built large, raised garden boxes and beautified our garden area, providing us a location to grow feed and plants. Leia completed 100+ hours of volunteer service to earn the Stars and Stripes Award from the American Heritage Girls. She chose CFVC as the beneficiary of her project after a family friend experienced abuse by their partner. We appreciate all of the hard work that Leia and the American Heritage Girls put in on this project, which planted a seed for many more positive things to come out of our garden.
CFVC would like to thank Ms. Lawton’s first grade class from Knox Elementary School. The class assembled 30 Night Night tote bags for children in the emergency shelter. The tote bags include a stuffed animal, a blanket, books, and a special card with a positive message from the students and were designed to bring comfort to those that receive them. Thanks Ms. Lawton’s first grade class for all your hard work!
