We have a fantastic team here at Cherokee Family Violence Center; and while we do our best to celebrate each other, we are always excited to see that others in our community have taken note of our stellar staff members. Today, CFVC Family Advocate, Sheila Lundquist and her family were featured in the Cherokee Ledger News. We are so happy that the Ledger chose to honor Sheila’s efforts as not only an advocate for victims of domestic violence, but children in the foster care system. Make sure to pick up the Ledger this week and read all about the Lundquist family, so you can get to know the Sheila that all of her clients and the staff here, already know and love. If you are not local, you can also read the article online.
Rhiannon Beard has become a valuable asset to the staff of the Cherokee Family Violence Center Legal Department while she has been completing a semester long undergraduate internship. This is her last week at CFVC but we have far more to celebrate than just her work – Rhiannon, a Junior studying Human Services at Kennesaw State University, just got hitched! Please join us in congratulating Rhiannon and Alec Wenzel and wish her well on her next adventure.
We are sure that some of you have an old cell phone like the ones pictured above taking up valuable space in your drawers. If you do, you should bring it to our main office! We are able to repurpose old cell phones like those to help our clients. Even if they aren’t working!
If you have any questions about how easy it is to help CFVC with our mission of a community safe for everyone, please contact Meg Graham, Volunteer Coordinator at 770.479.4641 or by email here.
